Finished the fourth book in the CoveHaven menage series, NEVER TOO MUCH. Three ladies looking to freshen up their five-year relationship. Had to keep digging deeper for my inner female. Great trip...for me. Hope my editor feels the same way.

Also got the word that my Christmas novella SCANTY SANTA is ready to go as part of Dreamspinner Press' 2013 Advent series.

Bunch of fine authors of M/M fiction. Pleased to be a part of the group. Take a look. It's a great gift -- at a great pre-season price! -- for that special holiday person. A novella a day keeps the winter blues away!

Another gorgeous day in the CoveHaven neighborhood. This is pretty much what it looks like on the small country roads in upstate New York today. And if you can tear yourself away from the awesome scenery, take a moment to get a FREE copy of HAVING IT ALL this weekend.

Syble realizes she will no longer accept compromise in her love life and will not give up either one of the men she now loves. Nor are they about to give up the woman they care most about. But Steven and Chad are oil and water: a solid failed businessman vs. a young man stuck in a job he despises. Can they become friends? Will they all become lovers?  Troy's first CoveHaven menage (MMF) today FREE!

Just saw the trailer for the new Disney Christmas movie SAVING MR. BANKS, which is about the efforts of Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) to convince P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson) to allow him to make a movie of her books recounting the adventures of MARY POPPINS. Travers was adamantly opposed, not wanting her characters to be turned into an animated film.

Their clash and Disney's subsequent convincing her to allow the live-action movie has been documented in a couple of books but Hanks and Thompson, and MARY POPPINS, are such favorites of mine, and seem so right for the characters that I can imagine it will be hilarious, heart-breaking and end on such a joyous note as to push all the buttons a great Disney film is famous for pushing.

I look forward to it with great anticipation. And dream of the day some Hollywood producer  would want to make one of my stories into a movie!

Getting It All is out!

My new book in the CoveHaven erotic Romance series is out!

For years the available ladies of CoveHaven have attempted to get handsome widower MATT BARTHOLOMEW back into the dating game. A 'secret admirer' gift seems to have finally re-awakened his interest in the opposite sex. The local town hottie, CHRISTY SWANSON, proposes an informal contest to see who might first bed him among herself, DOROTHY ARDMORE, Matt's pre-marriage flame and a widow herself, and the young and enthusiastic, but socially inept, LUCY DRAKE. Sexual adventures among the group, abetted by an enterprising newcomer to the town, a muscular young masseur, arouse long-hidden fears and fresh appetites. All ends happily—after all it's a red-hot CoveHaven Menage—but with whom and in what combination?

Do check it out at Secret Cravings Publishing for a steamy excerpt!

Turned in the ms for the second book in my CoveHaven menage series, GETTING IT ALL, (FFM), mid-month and sent in my first rewrites this weekend. Hopefully, my editor will be pleased. Should be out in July. Have started on the third MMM book in the series, WANTING MORE.

Attended Alice Orr's Pitch Perfect and Blurbalicious seminar last weekend at RWA/NYC and got fired up to really sail over the top in pitching and blurbing my books. Came up with a blurb that even got me going. You'll have to wait and see if it gets you going, too!

A deer rammed the car -- welcome to the spring mating season, I guess. In the middle lane of the Taconic surrounded by Memorial Day home-going traffic. That deer really must have wanted a relationship with that Toyota. Poor deer. Some relationships just don't work out. Poor Toyota. Lets just hope the little green gecko can wave it's magic wand and keep it going another 13 years.

Spring is finally here. Had to have two beloved evergreens that we had planted and nurtured for twenty years taken down. Some evergreens live forever, some don't. One thing about nature...you just never know.

A new anthology from Cleis Press edited by Shane Allison is just out with one of my stories.

Great group of writers!

Wrestling at the frat house, toga parties, plenty of pledge paddlings, and initiations of the sexy kind will have every man on campus lined up to join the fraternity! Shane Allison returns to the campus for another set of page-turning, arousing adventures featuring hunky undergrads getting it on. A bunch of great writers with Troy Storm's DUMB FUCK leading the way!

From the Central Park Conservancy... a lovely cherry tree. There are thousands more to come!
The daffs are in full bloom, the tulips are tulipping, the west side of Manhattan is bursting with pear blossoms and the cherry trees in Central Park are beginning to bud. What a lovely, lovely day. Oh. And the writing's going good. The rains come tomorrow, but that'll be nice for getting more writing done.
Happy weekend, all.

Waited up and sure enough around midnight--just like Cinderella--my book appeared! HAVING IT ALL by TROY STORM, Secret Cravings Publishing. Do please go the website and check it out. It's under the New Books for April carousel -- and there's a bunch of goodies there. There's also an excerpt, the very first 1003 words that, hopefully, will give you a taste of what's to come and will whet your appetite to see how Syble, Stephen and Chad's story plays out.

The final edits were painless and my editors wonderfully supportive. I'm truly excited about the book. My first in a long time. The first of four menage stories that take place around a small town called CoveHaven in the mid-Hudson valley.  Beautiful country.

Each book is independent, which turned out to be a bit more complicated that I had expected. I have all the general outlines, and intended to merely reference a peripheral character from one book to the next to loosely tie the stories together. The intention was to have four books that it didn't matter in which order your read them.

But once I got to fleshing out the stories, I wanted much more involvement between the characters and their tales and that couldn't happen without spilling the plot beans.

It would have been much easier to have written a series, beginning with one book and progressing to the next and then the next. But, not this time. Maybe next.

Maybe my readers and blog followers could help. Would you rather read a series of stories that are loosely tied together progressing from one book to the next? Or so you prefer to be able to pick up any book in a series and know it didn't really matter in which order you read them?

Leave a comment and thanks for your help.

Thought for a minute there spring had sprung. But winter snapped back for a last couple of bites. The better half tells me it's always like this in April. Appears I will never learn.

Hope you're having a good spring, or enjoying a final winter bite!

Had a horrendous day yesterday when I got my edits for HAVING IT ALL. Ranted and raved for lo many hours slogging through Not Accepting anything until it slowly began to dawn there was something fishy going on. Sure enough. I didn't understand how Track Changes was reporting the editor's changes. Turns out it was mostly changing 'straight' quotes to 'curly' quotes for the final ms. prep. After some clarification by my wonderfully patient Editorial Director, I started all over and zipped right through. What a gorgeous day it is today, blue skies, fluffy clouds, and all's right with this round of edits. Think I'll got for a nice walk in the park.

Here's my new cover! "...will they all become friends? Will they all become lovers?" I am totally thrilled. The book is in the final edits and should be coming out in April! Yea!

Which, being the writer he is, contains sound advice for any writer, new or old(er).
No. 7 made me laugh out loud...and wince...

7 – Confusing sapphire eyes and a cool job with character development.

Sigh. Ah, yes. Back to the writing board.

From the March issue of Harper's:

Excerpt from an interview with Maurice Sendak, the great recently departed children's book illustrator, by Emma Brockes, a British journalist.
Brockes: What do you think of e-books?
Sendak: I hate them. It’s like making believe there’s another kind of sex. There isn’t another kind of sex. There isn’t another kind of book. A book is a book is a book. I know that’s terribly old-fashioned. I’m old, and when I’m gone they’ll probably try to make my books on all these things, but I’m going to fight it like hell. I can’t believe I’ve turned into a typical old man. I can’t believe it. I was young just minutes ago.

And from Here and Now, a collection of letters between one novelist and another, Paul Auster, regarding names.
Paul Auster says:
Needless to say, I have spent my whole life meditating on my own name, and my great hope is to be reborn as an American Indian. Paul: Latin for “small, little.” Auster: Latin for “South Wind.” South Wind: an old American euphemism for a rectal toot. I therefore shall return to this world bearing the proud and altogether appropriate name of Little Fart.

Today I'm seeing "Jack, the Giant Slayer." It says I liked "Oz" yesterday, but loved is more like it. The scene I wrote last night is not nearly as sexy as I thought this morning. Maybe Jack will jack up my perceptors. Wish me good wading. It's supposed to rain all day in the soggy Big Apple.

Visited the Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Gardens Sunday and it was a breath of change from a long, cold winter. Magnificent displays of orchids of all types. It'll be around for a while if you like orchids and the promise of spring. Also got a bit of writing done today. Finished another chapter in the current WIP, which will be the second in my CoveHaven menage series for Secret Cravings. The first, HAVING IT ALL, should be getting its cover soon!

Sure enough, the park was lovely. Everyone out. Got some nice thinking time in. Now to go lose an hour's sleep over it.

Sunny Saturday...and about time!

What a great Saturday. It's sunny in New York City! The snow is almost gone from the streets and sidewalks. After I get my head together -- the last few days have been taxes days -- and write a few more pages, I'm hoping to take a walk in Central Park and see how close we're getting to spring. Hope you all have a great weekend.
